Rubber Moulded Washers
SRM have been producing rubber moulded washers for over 38 years, both moulded and die-cut in a broad range of compounds.
A rubber washer is a ring made from rubber used in a vast array of mechanical devices. They are used to prevent vibration from spreading from one part to another, reducing noise levels, to make something such as a bolt fit tighter, or to prevent rubbing or leaking.
When tolerance on a seal is paramount, a washer has to be moulded to avoid the discrepancies present in die-cut washers, due to the washers being punched out of a large rubber sheet. The tolerance on extruded sheet manufacturing is far greater than with custom injection or compression moulded sheet.
Moulded washers can be made from EPDM, silicone, nitrile or Viton, it depends on the application as to which compound will be the most suitable.Feel free to contact our sales team when they will be only too pleased to offer advice on which material will be more suitable. With over 38 years of experience you can be confident that we can advise on the most affective compound for your product.
Typical industries we work with include:
- Nuclear and petrochemical - Where we create pipe seals
- Electronics – Producing housing seals
- Power – Producing large seals to eliminate tolerance fluctuations on calendered sheets
